Magician Lite

The Magician Lite Robotic Arm is a multi-functional lightweight intelligent robotic arm, is one of the core products in DOBOT’s K12 customized artificial intelligence education ecosystem. Magician Lite enjoys numerous software and hardware interaction methods and expansion interfaces in order to maximize students’ freedom to create.

Students work together as a team to address challenging tasks by designing, creating and programming their own robots. This means that these students not only can put what they have learned to rigid test but also get to celebrate their unique talents and achievements.

Magician Lite is compact and only weighs 2.4 kg, making it portable and easy to build an application scenario. Its repeatability positioning is 0.2 mm, payload 0.25 kg, and radius range 340 mm. It supports a soft gripper, suction cup, pen grasper and other changeable end tools. The robot has a collision detection function, making it safe for children to be around.

Magician Lite features an external controller called “Magic Box” that separates the motion control algorithm and user tasks to allow more convenience for programming and creating. The robot supports Bluetooth and Bluetooth connection. 12 expansion interfaces ensure maximum openness and compatibility.

Magician Lite comes with a complete curriculum system that is divided into three stages from beginner-level to advanced learner-level. The curriculum offers a variety of teaching demos that focus on experiential, project-based and exploratory-based learning.

By participating in the DOBOT robotic competitions, students not only put their knowledge to test, but also get to perfect their comprehensive ability, engineering ability and innovation ability.

Core Highlights

Compact 4-Axis Robot Arm

Magician Lite is a compact 4-axis robotic arm designed for AI education, robotics training, programming practice, and desktop automation projects. With a maximum reach of 340 mm, it is suitable for classrooms, laboratories, maker spaces, and training workstations.

Multiple End-Effector Options

By changing different end-effectors, terkobot Lite can perform writing, drawing, suction handling, gripping, sorting, and classroom demonstrations. Available tools include a pen holder, vacuum suction cup, and soft gripper for different robotic learning tasks.

AI Vision Learning Platform

When configured with an AI vision camera and intelligent control box, terkobot Lite can be used for color recognition, image recognition, face recognition, OCR text recognition, and voice interaction projects. Students can learn the complete workflow from recognition and decision-making to picking and sorting.

Visual Programming and Python Control

Magician Lite supports graphical programming, Python scripting, manual teaching, and motion playback. Beginners can control the robot through block-based programming, while advanced users can explore Python programming, I/O control, and project development.

Teach-and-Playback Operation

Users can manually guide the robotic arm to record motion paths and let the robot repeat the movement automatically. This function is suitable for robotics fundamentals, pick-and-place demonstrations, trajectory training, and automation process simulation.

Expandable AI Control Box

The intelligent control box provides multiple expansion interfaces for sensors, stepper motors, conveyor belts, sliding rails, and other external devices. Users can combine the robot arm with color sensors, buttons, relays, indicator lights, and mobile platforms to build complete robotics projects.

FAQ

Q1: What age group is Magician Lite designed for?

A: Magician Lite is designed for students aged 8 and above. Its interface is intuitive enough for primary school students, while Python and SDK modes challenge middle school, high school, and even university-level learners. It is ideal for K12 classrooms, coding clubs, maker spaces, and home STEM education.

Q2: What programming languages and software does it support?

A: Magician Lite supports Blockly visual programming, Python scripting, and Teaching & Playback mode — all within the free Magician Lite software (Windows & Mac). Advanced users can also develop with C++ and ROS via the Magic Box. Scratch integration is available for younger learners. Magician Lite is regularly updated and includes a built-in virtual simulation lab for offline programming practice.

Q3: Is the Magic Box AI camera module included in the package?

A: Yes. The standard package includes the Magic Box AI vision module with onboard camera. It supports color recognition, object detection, face recognition, and gesture control out of the box. No additional AI hardware purchase is needed. Simply connect Magic Box via USB and start exploring AI applications within minutes using AI modules.

Q4: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and lead time?

A: MOQ is 1 unit for standard orders. For institutional or school bulk orders (10 units or more), we offer tiered pricing, dedicated account support, and priority production scheduling. Standard lead time is 3–7 business days. Custom OEM orders (logo, packaging, curriculum materials) require 15–25 business days. Please contact us for a volume quotation.

Q5: How does Magician Lite compare to the standard Magician?

A: Magician Lite is purpose-built for education with a lighter design (3.4kg vs 3.4kg), integrated Magic Box AI vision, and a simpler, more student-friendly software interface. The standard Magician focuses more on maker/hobbyist use with 3D printing and laser engraving add-ons. Magician Lite is the preferred choice for schools, STEM programs, and AI curriculum integration.
